"Part of my company has picked up one of the poorest most "war torn" areas over here. I think it would be a tremendous opportunity for these guys to have some things to pass out to the kids here. Let me know." -ROB"
Music is the Best Way to Open People's Hearts!
To raise awareness for peace and love through music and the arts;
To help children whose lives have been adversely affected by war and poverty;
To support other 501(C) 3 charities to help those whose lives have been adversely affected by conflict and poverty.
Bridges of Peace is an inclusive organization that invites everyone to get involved with it's mission. Our mission is a simple one: to open hearts through a strong message of love. Our goal is to build Bridges of Peace between people through our charity projects and music and the arts. We invite volunteers to sponsor drives by collecting items for children to be sent to our U.S. military in war torn countries who distribute them to the local children.
Bridges of Peace staff is all volunteer. All money is used to further our mission.
Bridges of Peace is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Charity Organization.

Ray Korona & Pete Seeger
"Toys for Peace" was written for Bridges of Peace by Pete Seeger (legendary Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductee & Peace activist) and Ray Korona to propel this movement of Peace and goodwill. The song was inspired by the Bridges of Peace Drive Project where toys were collected from Sayreville school children and sent to the children of Iraq to be distributed by our US soldiers stationed there. The project's goal is to help a child in need and to bridge relations between the US soldiers and the Iraqi people as well as invite our USA children to be that bridge to peace by donating their toys. Since our first drive in Sayreville, the project has grown nationwide.
“She said school children in Sayreville, Should give a toy or two To the children in Iraq. They have so very few. Diane’s neighbor Karen agreed, And soon a movement grew. Would the schools go along? What else could the school board do?
Because we have got to learn to live in peace some day. Maybe soldiers with toys, not guns,will find a better way...
The colonel said, Let’s do it! Yes, we will try your plan. Our soldiers can give out toys In Iraq and Afghanistan. Those soldiers loved to meet the kids. They hope their visits increase. When you make a child smile, you build a bridge to Peace"
Pete Seeger is also the inspiration for Bruce Springsteen’s folk CD, "We shall Overcome, The Seeger Sessions" honoring the work of Pete Seeger.
We are extremely honored to have "Toys for Peace" written for us and our hope is that this mission of Peace and Goodwill will continue to grow and that more people will be inspired to help.
